Dansville- Ann Pierce Henrich age 72 passed away Sunday afternoon June 20, 2010, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Ellwood City, PA on February 13, 1938, a daughter of the late Gorman and Elizabeth Carter Pierce. On May 8, 1959, she was married to Norman E. Henrich, who survives. She was also predeceased by her son Marty, and two sisters, Elizabeth Thornhill and Nancy Mathews. Ann attended the Jamison School of Nursing where she received her RN, she attended Empire College, where she received her bachelor's degree in nursing, and she later received her master's degree from Alfred University. Ann was employed at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville for thirty-four years, first as a Registered Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, Director of Nursing and Vice President of Patient Care Services, retiring from this position in 2000. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Dansville, where she served as a greeter, lector, on the Altar Guild and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Noyes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and volunteered as the Health and Wellness Educator and Bereavement Support Group at Noyes. She was also a Literacy Volunteer of America. Surviving in addition to her husband, Norm is a son, Matthew (Cami) Henrich, of South Carolina, two grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Henrich, a brother David G. (Helen) Pierce of Harmony, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Kiehle Cemetery in Sparta. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
