Stafford- Carl A. Gutzmer age 76, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Rochester on July 8, 1933, a son of the late Arthur and Mae (Fenwick) Gutzmer. He was also predeceased by a brother Robert Gutzmer. On November 14, 1953, he was married to Margaret "Reta"(Dodd) Gutzmer who survives. Carl was a forester for the City of Rochester for over forty-two years retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ and the Kitzel Gun Club both of Rochester. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes and sitting around the camp fire at Fairhaven sharing stories with his family and friends. Surviving in addition to his dear wife, "Reta" are his children, Ann Marie (David) Wilmoth of GA, Donna (Charlie) Harris of Rochester, Peaches (Matt) Gerasimchik of Rochester and Carl (Kim) Gutzmer of Batavia, a sister; Dorothy (Earl) Morris of Rochester. Fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Mae Gutzmer and a brother Robert Gutzmer. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, where service will be held on Thursday at 1:00pm Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Scottsburg.
