Hugh L. Eddy Obituary
He was born in Rochester on June 6, 1944 a son of the late Richard and Virginia (Knox) Eddy. He was also predeceased by a brother Richard W. Eddy Sr., and in-laws Dorr (Farmer) Emily Gates. On June 6, 1964 he was married to Shirley Gates Eddy who survives.
Hugh was a US Navy Veteran serving from 1961-1965 in Vietnam. He was a charter member of the Frank J. Casbolt # 6780 of the VFW in Dansville. He enjoyed camping, watching TV, spending time with his children, grandchildren. He was an avid Nascar racing fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife Shirley, are three daughters; Lisa (Nate Piedmonte) Halbert of Springwater, Jean (Jr. Slack) Taft of Mt. Morris, Susan (Charles) King Sr., of Wayland, two sons; Hugh (Cydney Rawleigh) Eddy II of Dansville and Jonathon Eddy Sr., of Cohocton. Four brothers Robert (Sandra) Eddy of Geneseo, Randy (ShartLinda) Eddy of Groveland, Dale (Brenda) Eddy of Livonia and William Eddy of Geneseo. Eight sisters, Jean (Fred) Ingalls Sr., of Groveland, Linda Collins of TX, Lila Hulo of Farmington, Julia Smith of Arkport, Nina Finocchario and Tina Hoadley both of Avon, Tonya Eddy of NC and Tammy Eddy of Livonia. Brothers and sisters in-law Darlene Eddy of CA, David (Kathy) Gates of PA, Alice (David Applin) Button of Dansville and Doreen (Larry) Bigley of Arkport. Grandchildren, Seth Hayton, Dennis Miller, Bailey Halbert, Matthew Eddy, Emily Clark, Rebecca and Ethan Slack, Austa VanScooter, Charles King Jr., Abigail and Ethan King, Carsyn King, Jonathon Eddy Jr., Elizabeth, Jaxin and Jillian Eddy and a great-grandson Karter Palma.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., in Dansville where services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am.
