Dansville- Ruth C. Hayes age 91, formerly of Morse St., in Dansville passed away late Tuesday afternoon March 16, 2010, at the Werth Adult Home in West Sparta where she had been a resident for the past several years.

She was born in Dansville on January 15, 1919, a daughter of the late Irving and Evelyn (Hirsch) Blake. She was the widow of William "Bill" Hayes who predeceased her in 1997. She was also predeceased by siblings Helen White and Louis Blake.

Ruth was a receptionist for the former Dr. Wagner's office in Dansville for many years. She was a member of the Woman of the Moose # 670 of Dansville. She was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville.

She is survived by her son, Dennis (Gloria) Hayes of Dansville, two granddaughters, Kelly (Adam) Hanks and Robin Hayes both of Dansville, great-grandchildren, Dennis and Elliot Hanks. A sister Marion Briglin of Naples, brothers and sisters in-law Bob (Rose) Hayes, Pat Hayes, Peg (Fred) Lemen all of Dansville and Richard White of Springwater. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00am at St. Mary's' Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Dansville. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville.
