He was born in Dansville on July 13, 1921, the son of the late Ervin and Flora (Beck) Rounsville. He was also predeceased by a daughter Maxine Relyea, a grandson Christopher Relyea, and a sister Rita Roelofs. On August 17, 1946, he was married to Marjorie (Northrup) Rounsville, who survives.
Ken was a US Army veteran serving under General Douglas McArthur during WWII. He was an electrician at Craig Developmental Center in SONYEA, retiring in 1983 after over twenty years of service. He was a devoted communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. A member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion and the Frank Casbolt # 6780 of the VFW. He was a charter member of the West Sparta Volunteer Fire Department. Ken and Marge were snowbirds for many years, wintering in Frostproof FL. He was an avid outdoorsman, woodworker, hunter and beer enthusiast.
Surviving in addition to his wife of sixty three years Marge, are his children; Florine Watson of CO, Kathy (Douglas) Brandon of Arkport, Thomas (Jerri) Rounsville of Dansville, Francine (Joe) Warren of Dansville, Steven Rounsville of Canandaigua and Joseph (Sue) Rounsville of Henrietta, thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church in Dansville on Saturday at 10:00am. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Sparta.
