Scottsburg- Charles E. "Charlie" Dieter age 84, formerly of Scottsburg, passed away Sunday morning February 1, 2010, at the Livingston County CFNR, where he had been a resident for the past few years. He was born in Dansville, on July 10, 1925, a son of the late Edward and Grace (Wallace) Dieter. He was also predeceased by his wife Beatrice (Tanner) Dieter on February 11, 1990. Charlie worked for the Livingston County Highway Department for over twenty years, retiring in 1986. He had also worked for the Town of Nunda Highway Department. He was a good neighbor to many of his friends in Scottsburg. He is survived by his dear friend Linda (James) Culbertson of Dansville, several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors in Scottsburg. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held Wednesday at 10:00am with the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Scottsburg. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, NYS Route 256, Scottsburg, NY 14545, the Dansville Ambulance Fund, PO Box 235 Dansville, NY 14437 or the Livingston County CFNR Activity Fund for Country Lane, 11 Murray Hill Drive, Mt. Morris, NY 14510.
