I remember Mr. Smalt requiring all that knew him to call him Norbie! He was a man's man. He was everybody's dad. He commanded and earned the respect of everyone he knew. One of the truest role models I have ever had in my life. It has been many years since I have seen Norbie and Doris. I have recalled many memories of my times spent with the Smalt family and all with such fond nest. They all treated me with as if I were one of the family. Norbie, thank you for giving me the guidance that all young men need. I know many years passed and in that time I never forgot you or Mrs. Smalt and that you both always were near and dear in my heart. Rest well Norbie and be at peace dear friend.
