Rochester/Canaseraga-Norman W. Meskill, age 77 passed away early Monday afternoon November 9, 2009, at the Hornell Gardens Nursing Home in Hornell where he had been a resident since June.He was born in Rochester, on June 13, 1932, a son of the late Walter and Regina (Donahue) Meskill. He was a graduate of the Aquinas Institute in Rochester Class of 1949. Norm was a US Air Force veteran; he was stationed at Sheppard AFB in Texas and Fairchild AFB in Spokane Washington. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canaseraga. Norm believed that life should be enjoyed to the fullest extent, some of his beliefs were expressed through his love of creative writing and writing of poetry in greeting cards he would send to his family and many friends. He had a great love of animals especially his Bull Mastiff Mildred that went with him everywhere. He loved to play the game of golf and bowl with his friends in Rochester. Norm was a good brother that loved to joke and horse around with the people he loved.He is survived by his twin sister, Marion (John) Fagan of Jupiter FL, another sister, Juliann (David) Ras of Canaseraga, and a brother, Paul Meskill of Nunda, many nieces, nephews, great- nieces, nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00am in St. Mary's Church in Canaseraga. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, NY.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, Box 189 Canaseraga, NY 14822.
