It seems like I've known Howard all my life or at least 32 years anyway. I remember saying to Carol "your Dad looks just like Clark Gable in Gone with the Wind"! He always greeted me with a smile, hug & kiss. I enjoyed our conversations and his wonderful sense of humor. To me Howard was family and I'll miss him dearly. My sympathies to Carol,Lance and Greg and families.

I am so sorry for your loss Lance and Greg. This also goes to the whole family. Your father was a great man. And he was very very proud of his children.

I dreaded waking up this morning to see this in the newspaper... "Sir" Shay was at my baptism and lead me through my Sunday school years.. He sat with us so we wouldnt color under the pews with our crayons!! He saved me several times from being sucked into the bell when it was my turn to ring!! He kept my mom filled with interesting sometimes dirty jokes and stories.. After we moved away, and I had my daughter.. Yvonne would stare at him when he talked. He would sing into the kettle while Corinne would rock her to sleep when I worked in her fudge shop. When my daughter and I camped at Stoney Brook with our bicycles, we always had a place to go if it rained or we had any trouble.. There is so much more that I could say... Corinne.. Your man is back with Luke and we will meet him again. REST IN PEACE.. my dear friend, SIR HOWARD SHAY.
