She was born in New Jersey, on July 16, 1928, a daughter of the late Harrison and Margaret (Reddington) Foice. She was the widow of Francis LaMountain and Stewart Ellis.She was also predeceased by her step-mother Patricia Foice, siblings, Patricia Terenzinne, Alfred and Timothy Foice.Shirley grew up in Albany, NY where she waitressed at the New Electric Restaurant. She then moved to the Dansville area and worked at the Moose Club where she was also a member. She was a former employee of the Gunlocke Chair Company in Wayland, Pappas Brothers Dry Cleaning in Dansville, and had been a volunteer at Dogwood Day Treatment in Dansville. She attended the Friendship Program in Geneseo and enjoyed the Dansville Senior Nutrition Program.She was well known in the Dansville community because she walked everywhere she went with her little blue hat on. She also enjoyed dancing, having fun and being picked on and giving it right back. She is survived by her children, Michael (Doreen) LaMountain of Albany, Mary (John McCray) Rowe of Canaseraga, Donna (Fritz) Hess of Dansville. Seven grandchildren, Tammy LaMountain, Michael Quinn, Theresa Weidman, Bobbi Jo (Michael) Desain, Tammy Rowe, Kerry Krouse, Jamie Wolfanger, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11:00am in Evergreen Covered Bridge Cemetery, Springwater. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
