He was born in Allentown, PA on November 25, 1925, a son of the late Lowell and Stella (Linnger) Nolan. On February 16, 1946, he was married to Margaret B. Nolan, who predeceased him on April 10, 2008. He was also predeceased by a son James Nolan, and siblings, Irene Yulmaki, Virginia Silsby, Cloy Nolan, Betty Blakeman, Lowell Nolan Jr. and Almond Nolan.Earl was a WWII US Army veteran. He was a mechanic at Gerber Products in Rochester for twenty nine years; he also worked as a mechanic at Birdseye for nine years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local # 118 of Rochester and a former member of the Canisteo VFW. He enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves Baseball and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills. Earl is survived by a daughter, Joanne Smith of Dansville, a daughter in-law, Judy Nolan of FL. Seven grandchildren, James (Tammey) Smith, Tracy (Brett) Sterner, Robert (Yvonne) Smith, Christine (Ron) Miller, and their father James F. Smith Sr., Michelle (Jeff) Fairbrother, Dennis (Jessica) and Robbie Nolan, and their mother Sherry Phillips, twelve great-grandchildren, Danielle and Cody Smith, Jacob and Mason Sterner, Christopher, Samantha and Kaleigh Miller, Joshua Fronk, Kelsey Fairbrother, Ryan, Morgan and Mathew Nolan and sister in-law Beatrice Wise of Hornell. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.A graveside service and Full Military Honors will be held Tuesday at 11:00am in Greenlawn Cemetery, Dansville. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville.
