Obituary of Dorothy Robards Sauerbier

Dansville- Dorothy R. Sauerbier age 90, formerly of Morey Ave. in Dansville passed away early Monday morning April 20, 2009, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She was born in Dansville on June 20, 1918, a daughter of the late Harold and Charlotte (Baker) Robards. On August 24, 1940, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Dansville she was married to Andrew P. Sauerbier, who predeceased her on November 23, 1998.Dorothy was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville and the Legion of Mary. She had worked at the former Blum Shoe Factory in Dansville as a payroll department clerk.She is survived by her daughter, Maureen (Gerald) McInerny of Clarksville, VA, two sons, John A. Sauerbier of Dansville and James (Ria) Sauerbier of Wayland. Seven grandchildren, Amy (Patrick) Callahan, Scott (Angeline) McInerny, Brian (Jodi) Sauerbier, Matthew (Heather) Sauerbier, Kevin Sauerbier, Kristin Sauerbier and Elizabeth Sauerbier, and a great-grandson, Nathan McInerny. A sister in-law Margery Sauerbier of Dansville, and several nieces and nephews.Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00am at St. Mary's Church. Interment will be next to her husband Andy in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville.
