Obituary of Laura Mae Burns

She was born in Canaseraga on May 27, 1918, a daughter of the late Wilson and Olive (Thomas) Mastin. On March 5, 1938, she was married to Kenyon E. Burns, who predeceased her on May 6, 2004. She was also predeceased by a daughter Rita Ball, a grandson, Steven Ayers, and siblings, Alice Dresser, Emmeretta Green, Grace Grey, Floyd, Alonzo and Harry Mastin. She was a graduate of Canaseraga High School. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, where she was also a member of the Ladies Guild. She was also a former member of the Women of the Moose and the Royal Neighbors of America.She is survived by four daughters, Alice (Ardeen) Johantgen of Sparta, Bonnie (Charles) Ayers of Rochester, Vera (Donald) Detmer of Arkansas, and Jane (Eric) Baker of Mumford, a son, Donald (Barbara) Burns of South Carolina, a son in-law George Ball of Wayland. Twenty five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville. Services will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Dansville on Monday at 11:00am.
