Carolyn Jean VanWagnen Obituary

She was born in Hornell on October 25, 1925, a daughter of the late Raymond and Olive (Miller) Savage. She was also predeceased by a grandson Todd Kenney, son in-laws Gerald Derrenbacher and Jack Alvord and a brother in-law James Gray. Carolyn was formerly employed as a secretary for the Livingston County Dept. of Social Services, and was the office manager for the Livingston County Farm Bureau and an office secretary at the Dansville Middle School. She was a former member of the Kate J. Jackson Court of Amaranth, the Deborah Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Livingston County Republican Committee where she served as a delegate for the Town of West Sparta. She enjoyed playing golf in Woman's golf leagues in Dansville, Nunda and Keshequa. She is survived by four daughters, Dianne Derrenbacher of Syracuse, Donna Alvord of Dansville Debbie (Mike) VanDerwerken of Texas, Darlene (Rod) Wambold of Geneseo, and a son, Andy VanWagnen of Ohio. A sister Margaret Gray of Arizona, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.There will be no prior calling hours. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville.
