Obituary of William J. Wright

He was born in Avoca on November 29, 1925, a son of the late Samuel Grant and Hazel House Wright. On October 25, 1954, he was married to Gladys (Perrine) Wright, who survives. In his early years Bill was a mechanic at several area garages including, Earl Snyders, Drews, Pfeiffers and Richmonds. He was a tool and die maker at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville for over twenty-five years retiring in 1986. He had also worked at Marketplace Mall in the maintenance dept. for several years after he retired. He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church and the twenty five year club and IAM # 1665 at Foster Wheeler. He was a former member of the Phoenix Lodge # 1190 of the F&AM, and the Eagles Club of Hornell. Bill enjoyed restoring older cars, and also had a knack of recognizing makes and models of cars as they drove by. Surviving in addition to his dear wife, Gladys is a daughter, Dianne (Keith) Moose of Dansville, and a son David (Susan Grant) Wright of Henrietta. Three grandsons, Chris (Stacy) Moose, Daniel (Aleesa Jansch) Moose both of Dansville and Keith (Jamie) Moose of Ft. Polk LA. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, several brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. Services will be held Thursday at 11:00am in St. Pauls Lutheran Church.
