Sparta- Sharon Lee Lochmann Van Bennekom, 79 passed away late Saturday evening January 11, 2025, at her home in Sparta.

She was born in Rochester NY on April 11, 1945, a daughter of the late Donald L. and Marjorie Vivian (Graves) Bills. On April 24, 1965, she was married to Hans Lochmann Van Bennekom who survives

Sharon was a Communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. She was a Mayflower descendant of Miles Standish. She was employed as a secretary for Tri County Family Medicine Billing office for many years. She was a former member of the Dansville Lioness Club.

Surviving in addition to her husband Hans are a son Christopher Hans (Shann) Lochmann Van Bennekom, a daughter Kimberly Averell, grandchildren, Emily (Andrew) Nelson, Quinten (Kelly) Lochmann Van Bennekom, Lydia (Justin) Vossler, great-grandchildren, Payton, Lyncoln, Maisie, and Violet, a sister Donna Crowley

Friends may call Wednesday Jan. 15 from 3 to 6 PM at the Hindle Funeral Home Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Online memorials may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
