Obituary of Kurt A. Hofsass

Swain- It is with great sadness the family of Kurt A. Hofsass announce his peaceful passing on Friday September 27, 2024, at the age of 94. He was born in Rochester, NY June 30,1930, a son of the late Walther and Barbara (Wicky) Hofsass. On August 18, 1951, he was married to his high school sweetheart the former June Keesler who predeceased him on December 16, 2021. Kurt grew up in Rochester NY and attended John Marshall High School. He then started his career with General Motors Corporation, eventually becoming plant manager at the Rochester Products Division. Following his retirement Kurt and June spent the rest of their days at their home in Swain, NY. Kurt was very involved the Town of Grove serving as a Councilman for many years, and a member of the Canaseraga Lions Club. Kurt and June met many friends at Swain Ski Center, he skied up to the age of 86. Kurt and June were happily married for 71 years and are survived by their five children, Greg (Janis) Lori, Mark (Suzi), Lisa (Tim), and Lynn., five grandchildren, Aaron (Maire), Danielle, Kyle (Nicole), Allison, Catherine, and Julia. A graveside service will be held Saturday November 2, 2024, at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Cemetery in Canaseraga. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Canaseraga Legion Post following the service form 1 to 4pm. Arrangements are Hindle Funeral Home Funeral Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville.
