Dansville –Robert (Bob) William LeBar, age 94, passed away peacefully Tuesday August 27, 2024, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

He was born in Dansville, on September 20, 1929, a son of the late Charles and Helen (McCartney) LeBar. For over 63 years he was married to Goldia (Bortle) LeBar who predeceased him in 2012. He was also predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Flora (Paul) Thielges, and Jean (Jim) Wolfanger, Bud Davis and George VanKeuren

A longtime resident of Dansville who could trace his ancestry to the first settlers of Dansville through the McCartney family, Bob retired as the Head Custodian at Dansville Central School District, where he spent many years serving the students and staff. A proud Navy veteran, Bob was a Past Commander of the Daniel Goho Post #87 of American Legion, demonstrating his commitment to serving his country and community. He also served as President of the Support Staff Non-Teaching Association of Western New York, advocating for the rights and interests of his colleagues. In his free time, Bob enjoyed gardening, finding solace in nurturing plants and watching them grow. For over 40 years Bob and Goldia sold tomatoes and vegetables at their home on Ossian St. He also enjoyed watching WWE and NXT wrestling with his sons.

Bob is survived by his children, Richard (Lorraine), Robert (Donna), Gary, and Edward (Denise Kline) LeBar, (10) grandchildren, (13) great-grandchildren and (5) great-great-grandchildren, his sisters, Betty (Bud) Davis, and Joyce (George) VanKeuren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
