Dansville – James “Jim” Leo Howe age 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 11, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital following a cancer diagnosis. He was born in Rochester, a son of the late James and Mildred (Tripp) Howe. He was married to Donna (Rowe) Howe who survives. Jim was a man of many passions and interests. He was a proud member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1130, and the Daniel Goho Post #87 of the American Legion. He worked for 17 years at the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. as a welder. When he wasn't working on his prized Camaro, Jim loved to unwind by singing in the pool or spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. But his greatest joys in life were his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, and his cherished property in South Carolina, where he could escape and relax. As the owner of his own excavation business, Jim took pride in his work and was a hardworking entrepreneur, but it was his love for life and his loved ones that truly defined him. Surviving in addition to his loving wife Donna, are his children, Sharon (Matt) Reynolds, Margaret (Chad) Foster, Will (Amy) Howe, grandchildren, Tyler Foster, Zoie Howe, Zach Foster, Quinn Howe, Brandon Foster, Emily Reynolds, and Camden Foster. A private Funeral service was held with final interment in Greenmount Cemetery Dansville. Arrangements made by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville, NY 14437.
