Mr. Marks was my math teacher and even taught me at home while I was recovering from surgery. He was always fair and understanding. I and my other classmates enjoyed hearing stories about his life before coming to the United States. He was one of my favorite teachers.

Mr. Marks was an excellent and patient. He gave much help and tried to help me pass the regents (which I did). His memory will live on as a most gracious educator. Nancy Applin Marsden

Leo was an extraordinary teacher! I would never have passed trigonometry without his help. He was patient and kind as he guided me through this difficult subject, spending his own time after school. He and Mary Jo became dear friends. Both of us living in Dansville, we often ran into each other. Leo always took time to chat with me. He always made one feel special. He will be missed. Mary Jo, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Cos and Francine

It was truly a sad moment to hear of Leo's passing. To know that his smile, laughter, and joy of being your friend were to be no more. I can never remember a time when I felt uncomfortable, or awkward when I was with him. His presence lit the entire room. All, were happy to be with him.
People such as he, are given to us by God, so that we can see goodness, feel goodness and realize that God’s love comes to us in many ways.
Thank you, Leo, you will be missed.
