Francis Austin Burdick Obituary

Swain- Francis Austin Burdick, age75, passed away early Tuesday July 16, 2024, at his home following a brief illness.


He was born in Buffalo, on March 13, 1949, a son of the late Robert J. and Velma Mae (Boyd) Burdick. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Stacey Burdick, and his sister Shirley (Daniel) Loop.


Francis served in the United States Army from October 1968 to October 1970 when he was honorably discharged. In his younger years he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards and country music. He especially liked Hank Williams and Hank Williams Jr. Francis was always up to tell a joke or two whether it be appropriate or inappropriate. He loved making up his own lyrics to songs and playing his air guitar. He loved his family very much. He will be sadly missed by all of us.


Francis is survived by his significant other Kathy Butler, his children, Suzanne (Rollin) Boyd, Stephanie (Michael) Blackmon, Jeremy Burdick, Kelly (Carl) Rapp, Carlton (Sally) Butler, thirteen grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Robert (Yoko) Burdick, Jerry (Florefe) Burdick.


Family and friends may call on Thursday July 25th, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in Bathe National Cemetery on Friday at 10:00 am. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
