Medina- Karen Evelyn Mix age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 29, 2024, at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, following an illness.
She was born in Warsaw, on September 28, 1943, the daughter of the late Grant Hume and Nancy (Gardner) Yager. She was also predeceased by her husbands, Robert D. Mix and Ramon J. Gilman.
Karen was a wife and mother during her younger years. As an older adult, she attended Genesee Community College and got her degree in accounting. She went on to work at the Genesee County Treasury Office until her retirement. Karen was a member of the East Shelby Community Bible Church.
She is survived by her children, Dawn Van Curan, Raymon (Christine) Gilman, Michelle (Thomas) Ferguson, brothers and sisters, Dana (Lucinda) Perrine, Douglas Perrine, James Hume, Agnes Inquaggiato, Warren Hume, Arthur Hume, Catherine Anderson, grandchildren, Joelle Van Curan, Jeffrey Van Curan, Stephanie Gilman, Megan Gilman, and Nicole Ferguson, great granddaughter, Elsa Van Curan, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in Medina at a later date. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
