Dansville- William J. "Bill" Babcock age 80, passed away on his terms early Friday morning March 22, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a brief illness. He was born in Dansville on October 21, 1943, a son of the late Celon and Isabelle (Potter) Babcock. He was also predeceased by his siblings Sandra Adams, Patricia Hall and Ken and Jim Babcock. In November of 1964 he was married to the former Barbara West Babcock, who survives. Bill was a US Army veteran serving from 1960 to 1964. He retired from the Retsof Salt Mine in in 2012 after 46 years of service. Bill enjoyed first and foremost spending time with his loving family, his grandsons and great-grandsons brought him much joy. He had a passion for reading and learning. Bill was a avid fan of the Buffalo Bills from their inception in 1960. Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 59 years Barbara are a daughter, Paula Murray, two sons, Jeffrey and Jamie Babcock, two grandsons, Cole (Rebekah) Murray and Jordan Babcock, two great grandsons, Noah and Luke Murray and several nieces and nephews. Barbs family Beaty (Ron) Weidman, Ray (Machelle) West, Fred (Sue) Mahany and Sue Link who was like a sister to him. At Bill's request there will be no services. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Anne and Carl Myers Cancer Center at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
