Dansville- Mary Etta Essler, age 87 passed away late Sunday evening October 1, 2023, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mount Morris.
She was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Harold and Hazel (Baxter) Peterson. She was predeceased by her husbands, Richard (Jake) Essler and John Kerezman.
Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved spending time and taking care of her grandchildren. Over the years, she worked for many local businesses doing office work. She enjoyed reading, playing golf, and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She and her late husband, Jake, were avid St. Bonaventure basketball fans. They attended most home games. Mary's kind heart and gentle ways will live on through her many children and grandchildren.
Surviving Mary are her children, Mary Alverson, Cathy ("Skip" Harold) Wolfe, Karen (Mike) Dimmick, Ruby Gropp, Renee (Peter) Bacon, Ray (Lisa Galton) Weidman, Neal (Jennifer) Weidman, stepchildren, Debbie, Don (Karen), and Dan (Joan) Essler, stepsiblings Elaine (Tim) Benjamin, Chuck (Mary) Peterson, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Privately in Wood Cemetery in Ossian.Arrangements by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
