Obituary of Nancy Jean Werth

She was born in Dansville, on January 1, 1950, a daughter of the late Clifford and Winifred Ridley MacWhorter. On July 21, 2001, she was married to Roy Werth Jr., who survives. She was predeceased by a sister, Ethel MacWhorter. Nancy was formerly employed at Champion Knit in Perry, she was the first woman hired on the road crew for the local NYS DOT Unit. She was a nanny and housekeeper for Dr. Kenneth and Dr. Kathleen Hale for over fourteen years and considered them a part of her family. She was a member and past president of the Frank J. Casbolt # 6780 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Woman of the Moose of Dansville. She enjoyed camping, traveling, embroidery, and sewing. Surviving in addition to her husband Roy, are a son Bill (Jennifer) Smith of Pembroke, and a daughter Sueann (Kevin) Andrews of Oakfield. A brother Jim (Debbie) MacWhorter of Dansville , two sisters Wilma (Mike) Bendzus of Virginia, and Pat (Tony) Tremblay of Prattsburgh. Ten grandchildren, Doug Carlson, Frank and Danielle Smith, Amelia Swanson, Michelle and Cody Andrews, Zachariah, Isaiah, Elijah, and Demetria Hale. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am with the Rev. David Hotchkiss officiating. Interment will be in Bath National Cemetery. A VFW Ladies Auxiliary prayer service will be held Tuesday evening at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Livingston County Hospice, 2 County Campus, Mt. Morris, NY 14510, or the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Rd. N. Rochester, NY 14609.
