Contributions to the tribute of Catherine A. Senkier

Coach Senkier changed the trajectory of my life. As an 8th grader, Senk spotted me in PE Class and encouraged me to try out for volleyball. I played for Senk and like many athletes, got to play college and overseas volleyball, coach and then have a long career as an educational leader. I even got to share the love of the game with my own daughter who played in college too. Senk taught her players how to be prepared, resilient how to compete and keep our head's up win or lose....lessons for life. On behalf of the Casey/Kelly families, we send our love to Senk's whole family. She will be forever remembered in our hearts.

I'm Jim Areno, President of the high school field hockey officials in Dutchess County (Central Hudson Board of Field Hockey Officials). Cathy refereed in our group for many years, was our best official, gave her time to help train all of us, was never hesitant to give honest feed-back, and was instrumental in building girls sports throughout the entire state. We all remember her very fondly. Our association will be making a contribution to the Women's Sports Foundation in her memory. Please accept our condolences. Jim Areno
