Obituary of Eileen Josephine Kenney

She was born in Dansville, on July 14, 1924, a daughter of the late Sidney C. and Ina M. Wampole Howe. On September 26, 1942, she was married to Russell J. Kenney who survives. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Todd Kenney, a daughter in-law Kathy Kenney, and siblings Sidney, Dorr and James Howe, Evelyn Horton and Rita Deck. Eileen and Russell operated a Nationwide Insurance Agency out of their home on Maple St. for many years. Eileen enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her favorite son Brian. Surviving in addition to her husband, Russ, are three sons; Bruce (Gene) Kenney, Brian Kenney both of Dansville, and Barry (Monique Johnson) Kenney of Avoca, twin daughters; Kim (Ellen Bonjorno) Kenney of Dansville, and Kay (Alan) Fisher of Wayland, a brother Leo (Betty) Howe of Leesburg, FL, sisters- in-law, Elizabeth Betty Howe, Mildred Howe and Doris Campbell all of Dansville, 14 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday in the West Sparta United Methodist Church, with her grandson, Pastor Michael Kenney and Rev. Burton Smith officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Sparta.
