Dansville- James Robert Harvey Jr. age 76, passed away Saturday morning June 18, 2022, at Noyes Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born in San Diego, Ca, on June 26, 1945, a son of the late James and Agnes (Craig) Harvey Sr. He was predeceased by a brother Donald Harvey. On March 5, 1993, he was married to Tracy (Rinker) Harvey who survives.

James served for 13 years in the United States Armed forces during the Vietnam War. He achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class before being Honorably Discharged in 1978. He worked for Phillips Inc. in Bath NY, as a vacuum pump specialist. His hobbies included watching the Buffalo Bills, going camping, club socializing and spending time with his family. He was part of numerous clubs, the Dansville VFW Post #6780, where he served as President of the Board of Directors, the Daniel Goho Post #87 of the American Legion in Dansville, and the Dansville Moose Lodge 1130.

In addition to his loving wife Tracy his is survived by his children, Robert (Cheryl) Harvey, Donna (Scott) Grocott, Anthony (Laurie) Harvey, Deanie (Murray) Knowles, Tracy's children, Kevin (Rebecca) Hammond, April Curtis, 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

A private service with Full Military Honors will be held at Bath National Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life on Friday June 24th 4:00pm at the Dansville VFW Post #6780 145 Main St. Dansville NY 14437 Arrangements by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main Online memorials may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
