Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" Sahrle

She was born in Sparta, on January 9, 1916, a daughter of the late Edward and Sarah Nellie Moose Sutton. On September 11, 1952, she was married to Howard Sahrle, who predeceased her on August 5, 2003. She was also predeceased by a sister Dorothy Peck and a grandson Rob Stewart. Betty and Howard owned and operated a farm on the Wayland Hill for many years. She was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in Perkinsville, a former member of the Dansville Grange and the Deborah Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis (Lewis) Stewart of Victor, Michele (Jim) Dermody of Churchville, and Beth (Tom Kankoski) Sahrle of Rochester; two sons, Richard (Marilyn) Banker of Springhill, FL, and Frederick (Jean) Sahrle of Wayland; a sister Claribel Easton of Dansville; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday from 24 & 68 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am with the Rev. Richard Fox officiating. Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Perkinsville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wayland Ambulance Fund, 18 East Naples St., Wayland, NY 14572 or St. Peters United Church of Christ, PO Box 232, Perkinsville, NY 14529.
