Dansville – Darline Mae Fogle, age 74, passed away Tuesday afternoon March 8, 2022, at Noyes Memorial Hospital following a brief hospital stay. She was born in Dansville on May 17, 1947, a daughter of the late Edward E. and Gretchen (Gannon) Feathers. She was also predeceased by her husband, James Fogle, her sisters, Phyllis Northrup, Betty Walker, Evelyn Hinds, and her brother, James Feathers. Darline began her three decades of public service as a Nursing Assistant at Murray Hill Nursing Home. Darline was best known in our community for her involvement in the Dansville School District, where she was a cafeteria monitor and study hall aide for most of her career. She would run into kids and past students everywhere she went that went out of their way to say "hi" to her. She will always be remembered for her kindness and her ability to see when a child needed someone to talk too. She also worked at Convenient in town, where she made many friends and enjoyed interacting with her community. She enjoyed bowling on Wednesday nights at Brae Burn, just a short trip up from her home. She loved playing cards, particularly Euchre, with her ever expanding circle of friends, and playing the lottery, which saw her praying nightly for her numbers to come up. She looked forward to playing Uno with her family, where she developed a reputation for creatively interpreting the rules. She enjoyed spending time with her husband James, and loved traveling with him. They often took friends and extended family with them on their frequent trips to casinos, the Adirondacks, Niagara Falls, and on many other adventures. Darline later joined her husband as an employee at Stony Brook State Park, where she is unofficially accredited with reopening the snack shack by the pool. She was a loving grandmother who showered her grandchildren with affection. She is survived by her son Dana Fogle, a daughter-in-law Leslie, her grandchildren Olivia Price, Isabella, James E., and Eleanor Fogle, great-grandson Lucas Ojeda, Deb Didas, Robert Hinds, and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday March 15, 2022, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville. She will be interred next to her husband James in Bath National Cemetery.
