Dansville – Constance Banker Kane age 95, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning March 11, 2018.

Connie was born in the Town of Sparta, New York on February 8, 1923, a daughter of the late Daniel B. and Alice Spencer Banker. On July 7, 1945, in Nunda NY she was married to Robert J. Kane Esq.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Kane Esq, a brother-in-law, Edward Litteer and a great-grandson Michael Anthony Kane. Connie is survived by a sister Joyce Litteer, three sons: Michael D. (Luann) Kane; Patrick J. (Lillian) Kane; Robert T. (Donna) Kane; also survived by eight grandchildren: Nathaniel (Daniella) Kane; Alison (Justin) Birzon; Catherine (Nolan Aiken) Kane; J. Scott (Becky) Stanley; Sara (Owen) Zacharias; Brenden Kane; Robert (Janina Schmitt) Kane; James Kane and nine great-grandchildren.

Known to all generations as Connie, she was a teacher of 2nd and 3rd graders, having started her teaching in Lakewood School District near Buffalo and onto Manlius, Canaseraga and Dansville School districts, retiring in 1978 form Dansville Central School. Connie was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an expert in appraising and selling of antique furniture and glass, having once sold the kitchen table right from under Bob's dinner. She had a veritable encyclopedic knowledge, particularly of family genealogy and Groveland history. Connie was also an avid gardener and could often be found in her beautiful and colorful backyard. She loved reading and was a member of the Friends of the Dansville Public Library.

Connie felt fortunate to have many care givers that helped her maintain an enjoyable quality of life at home throughout her later years. Her wit, sass and feistiness will be missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held privately. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville. Ref. Hindle Funeral Home Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. Online condolences may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
