Obituary of Joyce Marie Button

Dansville- Joyce M. Button age 82, passed away early Sunday morning December 15, 2019, at the Livingston County CNR in Mt. Morris after a short illness brought on by years of living with COPD.

She was born in Ceres, NY on February 6, 1937, a daughter of the late Cornelius and Irene (Newton) Loucks. On August 2, 1958, she was married to Leslie Button, Jr. who predeceased her on May 10, 2002. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Sandra Parker and Linda Ginter.

Joyce was full of life. During her early years she enjoyed bowling, gardening, playing cards, camping and fishing. She was proud of her five strong and independent daughters. Each with their own talents and strengths. She would tell anyone she met how much she loved her children. Then she became a grandmother. Her world was ever changed and her love for her grandchildren surpassed everything imaginable. Joyce lived a full and rich life and was able to make a positive impact on so many. Her presence will be missed.

She is survived by five daughters, Corine (Ralph) Chapman, Mary Ann (Dale) Marsh, Judi (David) Wheeler, Melissa (Jim Cuellar) Britton and Wendy Detmer, a sister Sara Jane Austin; grandchildren, Scott (Stephanie) Johnson, Cassandra (Shaun) Gilbert, Mikayla Johnson, Ian Detmer, Jacob, Abigail and Laura Britton, DeJhiona Wheeler, great grandchildren, Hunter, Annabelle, Greyson and Elliana and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
