Obituary of Thelma M. Shute
Dansville- Thelma M. Shute age 97, passed away early Tuesday afternoon September 3, 2019, at the Bath VA Medical Center in Bath.
She was born in the Town of Dansville on March 4, 1922, a daughter of the late Guy and Edna (Pfaff) Losey. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald "Jerry" Shute, and siblings, Dorothy Hayward, Margaret Erwin, Myrtle Hill and Pete Losey.
Thelma and Jerry owned and operated Jerry's Restaurant on Main St. in Dansville for many years. She was a former Cub Scout Leader and member of the Dansville United Methodist Church. She was a US Navy WW II veteran serving from 1944 to 1946.
She is survived by her son James (Ashley) Shute of Mt. Morris and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside Military Service will be held at Bath National Cemetery in Bath at the convenience of family. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
