Obituary of Ryland Burger

West Sparta- Ryland John Burger "John" age 72, passed away late Sunday afternoon August 25, 2019, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville surrounded by his family.

He was born in Dansville, on November 9, 1946, a son of the late Donald and Virginia (Reynolds) Burger. He was also predeceased by his stepfather William Stevens, siblings, Ruth Muchler, Reva Burger, Ronald and Richard Burger. On November 7, 1970, he was married to Mary Ann Moore who survives.

John was a US Air Force veteran serving from 1964 to 1967. He was a tube bender at Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation in Dansville. He was a former member of the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of The American Legion, and the James H. Jackson Hose Company of the Dansville Fire Department. He was a member of the Genesee Valley Umpires Association and had coached Vince Lombardi Youth Football. In his free time, he enjoyed whitetail deer hunting with his family and friends in South Dansville, fishing and playing golf at Triple Creek in Nunda.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, four children, Sherri (Shane) Schirmer, Tracy (Ryan) Burr, Crystal Burger and Jeff (Sara Hunsinger) Burger, two grandchildren, Megan and Jarrett Schirmer; two sisters Rita (Kenneth) Stanley, Roxanne (Michael) Underwood; a brother Rodney (Sandy) Burger, a step-sister Patricia Verbjar and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday 4 to 7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be Saturday at 9:00 am. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
