Obituary of Gordon Derrenbacher

Springwater- Gordon “Gordie” George Derrenbacher age 87, passed away Monday afternoon August 5, 2019, at his daughter’s house following an illness.

He was born in Attica, NY. on April 17, 1932, a son of the late Conrad and Ellen (Dresser) Derrenbacher. He was also predeceased by his wife Dorothea VanDerwerken Derrenbacher, his sisters, Marion Robinson, and Dolores Strubel, a brother Marlyn Derrenbacher.

Gordon was passionate about his woodworking, animals, and nature. He lived by the golden rule, led by example and his legacy lives on in the family he so loved and administered to all his life. Gordie believed in giving and donated to many causes. He was a true gentleman who gave selflessly. He was dearly loved by his family and all whose lives he touched. 

Gordie is survived by three daughters, Stacy Menz, Kim Derrenbacher and Katrina Derrenbacher, a son Eric Derrenbacher, a sister Nancy (Edward) Wagner, four grandchildren, Danyelle (Tom) Westbrook, Joshua Menz, Mallory and Michelle Mease and great-grandchildren Andrew and Ryan Westbrook, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment with full military honors will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dansville.
