Obituary of James Robert Vogt

Dansville- James R. Vogt age 81, passed away early Tuesday morning July 9, 2019, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.

He was born in Dansville, on November 17, 1937, a son of the late J. Egbert and Catherine (Werth) Vogt. He was also predeceased by his wife Patricia Conner Vogt, two sons James and Robert Vogt and a brother John "Jack" Vogt.

Jim resided in Dansville all his life. He co-owned Vogt's Dairy with his brothers until 1988. Then he worked for Upstate Farms Dairy, NYSEG, and retired from Dean Foods as a Marketing Rep in 2000. He loved to travel, was a certified instrument pilot, enjoyed shooting skeet, and was active in the Dansville Pilots Association and Dansville Fish and Game.

He is survived by his best friend, Teresa Russell of Dansville, two sons, Gregory (Stephanie) Vogt of TX and Daniel Vogt of CO, grandchildren Benjamin, Anna and Maxwell Vogt, two brothers Thomas (Barbara) Vogt of Dallas, TX and William (Janice) Vogt of Dansville, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Saturday July 13 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., where a prayer service will be held at noon. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
