Obituary of Peter Christian Swarts

Sparta- Peter Christian “Chris” Swarts age 74, passed away early Monday morning August 20, 2018, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris.

He was born in Dansville on September 20, 1943, the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Crane) Swarts. On May 8, 1965, he was married to the former Margery Roffe Swarts, who predeceased him on May 16, 2012.

Chris and Margery owned and operated Four Maples Farm in Sparta for many years.  He was also employed for the Town of Sparta Highway Department for many years. He was a member of the Sparta Center United Methodist Church. Chris was an avid lover of music, he attended many local jamborees. He also had a love for antique tractors, and attending tractor pulls.

Chris is survived by his seven children, Pamela Swarts of Buffalo, Tracey (Daniel) Vannatta of Baldwinsville, Eric (Audrey) Swarts of Livonia, NY. Joel (Amy) Goodwin of Springwater, Samantha (Jason) Letendre of Mendon, NY. Heather (Charles) Webster of Honeoye Falls, and Heidi Appleby of Dansville. Thirteen grandchildren, siblings, Lisa (Douglas) Sanford, Lydia (Michael) Baker, Karen (Earl) Daley, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Saturday, August 25, 2018, from 10:00am to 12:00 pm at the Sparta Center United Methodist Church, where services will be held following calling hours at 12:00 pm. A reception to follow at the Sparta Center Fire Hall. Online remembrances may be left at hindlefuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home Inc., 271 Main St., Dansville.
