Obituary of Matthew Edwin Arnold

Geneseo- Matthew E. Arnold age 82, passed away early Wednesday morning February 14, 2018, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris where he had been a resident for the past several weeks.

He was born in Bradford County PA on May 16, 1935, a son of the late Ray and Dorothy (Tound) Arnold. He was also predeceased by his wife Jacqueline C. Diedrich Arnold, step-parents Gerald Elster and Emma Arnold and a brother David Arnold.

Matt was a US Army veteran serving form 1959 to 1961 in Germany and Korea. Matt was employed by the NYS Safety Services as a safety officer at the Rochester Psychiatric Center from 1961 until his retirement in 1990.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary E. Arnold, two sons, Michael and Peter Arnold, two grandsons Jared and Jacob Arnold, a sister, Mary Arnold Brown, and dear friends, Gail Ann, Larry and Kayla Valentino.

A memorial service will be Wednesday February 21, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery, Burlington, PA. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
