Obituary of Lucy F. Mistretta

Dansville- Lucy F. Mistretta age 93, passed away Friday morning February 9, 2018, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris where she had been a resident for the past year.

She was born in Groveland on July 7, 1924, a daughter of the late Philip and Anna (Romano) Granita. She was the widow of John V. Mistretta who predeceased her in 1998. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Josephine Lowrey, Carmella Lindsey, Mary Zanghi, Anne Bellanca, Rose Saltsman, Catherine Granita and Joseph Granita.

Lucy was the former Director of Admissions at Noyes Memorial Hospital and member of the Noyes Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville.

She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth "Betsy" (Guy) Matthews, John V. (Michele) Mistretta Jr., Mike (Margaret) Mistretta, and Anne (Fred) Shutt, a sister Sadie LaRosa, grandchildren Guy, Jr. & Jill Matthews; Pam & Ryan West Haley Mistretta (Nate Hand); Jordan Mistretta, Dawsyn Mistretta Jennifer & Bryan Saxton; Justin Shutt (Kristine Gessner) great-grandchildren Guy III, John Thomas and Grace Matthews; Addison and Ryleigh West; Lucas and Sadie Saxton

There will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday Feb. 13 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be next to her husband John in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville.
