Obituary of Dorothea M. Derrenbacher

Springwater- Dorothea M. Derrenbacher age 85, passed away late Monday afternoon January 8, 2018, at the Vincent House in Wayland.

She was born in Dansville on August 25, 1932, a daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Johnson) VanDerwerken. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Donna Fox, Catherine Morsch, Elizabeth VanDerwerken, Clarence, Lewis, Arthur and James VanDerwerken. On October 16, 1954, she was married to Gordon Derrenbacher, who survives.

Dor was a communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. She was the former Town Clerk for the Town of Springwater for twenty years. In her free time she enjoyed time with family, collecting antiques, cooking and reading.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Gordon, three daughters, Stacy Menz, Kim Derrenbacher and Katrina Derrenbacher, a son Eric Derrenbacher, two sisters Anne Black and Rhoda (Roger) Wright, four grandchildren, Danyelle (Tom) Westbrook, Joshua Menz, Mallory and Michelle Mease and great-grandchildren Andrew and Ryan Westbrook, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. Dansville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dansville.
