Obituary of Rita Morsch
Dansville- Rita A. Morsch age 89, passed away Friday morning June 30, 2017, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris where she had been a resident for the past two years.
She was born in Dansville, on September 9, 1927, a daughter of the late Fred and Olive (Schirmer) Rauber. On May 12, 1951, she was married to Edward V. Morsch, who predeceased her on December 19, 1989. She was also predeceased by her sisters Loretta and Lucy Rauber.
Rita was the Salutatorian of the "Class of 1945" at Dansville High School. She was a legal secretary for Helen Pratt Esq. from 1947 to 1980. She was a lifelong communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville, where she sang in the choir for over twenty years and was member of the K of C Auxiliary. She was a member of the Dansville Lioness Club, Home Bureau, Women's Civic Club, Today's Widow, Foster Wheeler Retiree's Widows, American Red Cross Blood Bank, Noyes Hospital Auxiliary, Loyal Hearts Circle at the former King's Daughter's Home, and she organized the ride coordinator program for dialysis and cancer patient transportation. In high school she was recognized by the Chief Bureau of Business Education of the University of the State of New York, State Education Department for achieving 100 % on the business law regents. She was a member of the National Honor Society, and attended Girls State. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed doing crafts.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Neil) Sullivan, a son, Douglas (Roxanne) Morsch, a sister, Jean Kimmel, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Sister in law and brother in-law Betty (Ted) Conrad.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville.
