Obituary of Robert John Stolte
Canaseraga- Robert J. Stolte age 96, passed away peacefully Thursday morning April 27, 2017, at Strong Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA. On November 11, 1920, a son of the late Albert and Anna (Schroeder) Stolte. He was also predeceased by his first wife Virginia Scully, and his brother, Albert Stolte.
Robert graduated from Brentwood High School in Pittsburgh PA., Class of 1939. He then went on to join the Army Reserves in 1940. He was called to service for WWII in 1942, touring in North Africa and Italy. He earned the rank of 1st Lieutenant and was honorably discharged from service in 1944. On July 2, 1992 Robert was married to Anita Murawski who survives. He was a founding member of the Buckhorn Camp, a member since 1952. Robert then worked at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy. After retirement Robert began making and selling woodworking crafts with his wife Anita at all the local craft shows.
Surviving Robert, is his wife of 25 years Anita, his children, Robert (Marjorie) Stolte Jr of Boise Id., Timothy (Patricia) Stolte of Beaufort, SC., Ronald (Kathi) Stolte of Fairport, Mark (Janice) Stolte of Greece, Patricia Stolte of Gorham, NH., Ethan (Melissa) Flint of Canaseraga, Amy (Mark) Siegenthaler of Dansville, 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
Friends may call Sunday from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 6 North St. Canaseraga, NY 14822. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Canonsburg PA. In lieu of Flowers please make donations to the Canaseraga Volunteer Ambulance, 10 Main Street, PO Box 235, Canaseraga NY 14822
