Dansville- Robert C. "Bob" Stone Sr., age 80, passed away unexpectedly late Wednesday afternoon May 20, 2026.

He was born in Dansville on August 26, 1945, a son of the late Thomas and Helen (Clark) Stone. On May 21, 1966, he married Joan Sullivan Stone who predeceased him on July 17, 2015. He was also predeceased by his siblings Mary Perry, Thomas G. Stone, and brother's in-law Larry Davis and Ed Perry.

Bob was a US Army veteran serving from 1965 to 1967, he was a Communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Marys' Church, a longtime Honorary Life Member of the Dansville Fish and Game Club, the Loyal Order of the Moose # 1130, the Brae Burn Men's Bowling League and the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion. Bob was active with his children and grandchildren sports teams, coaching Cinderella Softball, Little Leage and Legion Baseball In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors with family hunting and fishing.

Bob was a meat cutter at the former Big M in Dansville; he was a knowledgeable counter clerk at Dansville Electric for many years. He also operated Stoney's Electric in Dansville.

He is survived by his children Tami (Paul) Coburn, Holley (Lynn) Smalt and Rob (Barb) Stone; a sister Katherine Davis a sister in-law Ruth Stone; grandchildren, Collin Coburn, Nicholas and Nathen (Jasper) Smalt and Hunter, Brody and Sidney Stone, a great grandson "Little Guy" Kody, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday May 29th from 4 to 7pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday May 30th at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church in Dansville Interment next to Joan with Full Military Honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Perkinsville.
