Sparta- Norma Lucille Sheasley, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Sparta on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

She was born in Duquesne, PA on March 21,1937, a daughter of the late Willis and Lucille (Conley) Barber. On June 24, 1955, she was married to Rev. G. Calvin Sheasley who predeceased her in 2010.

Norma became an accompanist playing piano in the 5th grade, she played piano and the organ all her life. She would play for the Dansville United Methodist Church, and St. Mary's Catholic Church. She would play weddings, funerals, recitals, school plays, and even the Genesee Theatre Shows. She was a devoted woman and a loyal member of the Dansville United Methodist Church. She was named United Methodist Woman of the year and played in the hand bell choir. She loved to sew and quilt; she was an excellent cook. She was a friend to the community and had an open-door policy for people to stop by. She loved her large family and she will be missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Luann Perkins of Dansville, her sons, Jack (Gabrielle) of Frankfort Germany, George (Margaret) III of NC, Richard (Shelly) Sheasley of CA, a sister, Margaret Brown, sisters in-law Luann Smith, and Lois Sheasley, grandchildren, Jennifer Sheasley, Christopher Sheasley, Nathan Sheasley, Rich Sheasley, Rebecca (Jared) Bridge, Samantha (Chris) Arcuri, Stephanie Hulst, Chaz (Katrina) Perkins, Arick (Corinne) Perkins, Shanna (Larry) Burley, Rheanna (Jason Cook) Quinlan, twenty four great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date, at the Dansville United Methodist Church 5 Chestnut Ave. Dansville, NY. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery Dansville. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. Online memorials may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com
