Dansville- It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nancy Titus Helfrich, age 78 of Dansville, New York. Nancy passed away on April 25, 2026, at the Vincent House following a short but difficult battle with cancer.

Nancy was born on October 4th, 1947, in Glen Cove, New York to Stanley and Dorothy (Ohimitie) Titus. Nancy originally worked in marketing and ran her own consulting business before starting a family with her husband Jim.

Nancy dedicated her life to helping those in need and serving her community; she played active roles in a long list of organizations including, the Livingston County Senior Nutrition Program, Montgomery County Mothers of Multiples, the Dansville Historical Society, Noyes Memorial Hospital's gift shop, Livingston County Child Protective Association, Dansville Women's Civic Club, and was a member of the congregation at the Dansville United Methodist Church. She additionally worked as an adjunct professor of English at Alfred State College.

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered for her curiosity, intellect, and dedication to helping her family, friends, and community.

She is survived by her husband Jim Helfrich, brother Tim (Marsha) Titus, sons Eric, Tom (Fahimeh), Cory (Meagan) and Kyle, and grandchildren Zachary, Preston, Kayleigh, Jamie, Nilu, and Farah, nephews, Ben and Alex Titus.

Services for Nancy will be private for her family. Interment will be with her parents in Westbury Friends Cemetery, Westbury, NY.
