Arkport/Dansville- Vernon "Vern" Cuddeback age 97, passed away at home late Tuesday evening February 10, 2026, with his family by his side.

He was born ii Canaseraga, NY on November 28, 1928, a son of the late Charles and Susan (Heckler) Cuddeback. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Inabelle, Edward, Laverne and Donald Cuddeback and Dorothy Riley. On December 7, 1957, he was married to Katherine "Kay" Haywood Cuddeback, who survives.

Vern retired from SUNY Geneseo maintenance dept. He and Kay had formerly owned The Cookie Jar Bakery in Hornell. Family was important to Vern he spent countless hours being "Mr. Fix It" to family and friends. In his free time, he liked to bake, hunt deer and spend time outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Katherine "Kay" Cuddeback, a daughter Kim (Tim) Whelehan three sons Vern (Jennifer) Cuddeback, Todd (Dawn) Cuddeback, Bruce (Julie) Cuddeback, a sister Mary Rowan, a brother in-law Raymond Haywood, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville, where services will be held at the completion of calling hours. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Canaseraga American Legion Post from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday February 14, 2026. Interment Canaseraga Cemetery at convenience of the family.
