Aiken SC- Jewel I Rowe age 79, passed away unexpectedly late Sunday evening December 14, 2025, at Aiken Regional Hospital in Aiken South Carolina.

She was born in Queens NY on September 18,1946, a daughter of the late Harold K. and Aileen L. (Woodworth) Runge. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Cyle Edward Hindle. She married Herbert G. Rowe Sr. on April 24,1964, who survives.

Jewel and her family moved to Hornell in 1956. A short time later they moved to their residence in Canaseraga. She was a 1964 graduate of Canaseraga Central School. After her daughter Lisa was born and Herb was done with US Army basic training they moved to Georgia and eventually landing in Texas where her son Herb Jr., was born. When Herb got his orders to go to Korea, Jewel and the kids returned to her family in Canaseraga. In 1985 with a job transfer they moved to Queens where Jewel started her career as a medical biller for several Drs and an Orthodontist. In August of 2006 they purchased a new home in Aiken, SC. She loved designing the home and picking everything from flooring to paint colors. She continued her billing career for several drs in the Aiken area and eventually retired.

Jewel was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She stayed active in her grandchildren's life while living in South Carolina. Grandma Judy was a creative soul with a heart full of love, always expressing her affection through thoughtful gestures, including her homemade signature cards, which brought joy to countless birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. She enjoyed crafting and had a green thumb; her rose garden was in perpetual bloom. Decorating was also a passion she had; her house looked like it was out of House and Garden. Her décor style was a blend of elegance, with a particular fondness for Asian-inspired accents.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 61 years Herb, are a daughter, Lisa (Carl) Hindle, a son, Herbert G Rowe Jr., a sister, Claudia (Stephen) Prutsman, two grandsons, Carl Eric (Amanda) Hindle Jr., Christian (Leanne) Hindle; great-grandchildren, Logan, Madelyn, Avery and Elijah Hindle, and several nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Interment will be in Canaseraga Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville. Online memories may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
