Dansville- With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joan Marie "Annie" "Jo" "Joanne" Holbrook Welton on Wednesday July 23, 2025, at the age of 82 after a valiant fight with squamous cell carcinoma of the mouth and throat after being stricken while snow birding the winter in Davenport Florida


Born the daughter of Frederick and Treva (Waggoner) Holbrook, on August 13, 1942. She was a lifelong resident of Dansville, and retiree of the Dansville School System where she worked as a school bus driver and monitor. Previous to this Joan was employed by Forbes Products of Dansville and SUNY Geneseo as a cleaner.


Joan love traveling the states and living in her RV with her love and partner Roy Bennett and spending her winters at Davenport Fl Mobile Estates RV Park. Roy and Joan hosted nightly happy hour for their many friends who became family. She also enjoyed stopping at whatever casino she could on her travels to "Make her deposit" and visiting with her many many family and friends from all over the country.


Joan is survived by her love and partner of 31 years Roy Bennet of Dansville, her children LaVaughn (Robert) Shepard, Lynette (James) Oswald, and Gorton (Patricia) Welton all of Dansville, her grandchildren, Michael (Erin) Shepard, Sara (Benjamin) Rawleigh, Nicole (Blake Fennell) Perrine, Amanda (Eric Johnson) Perrine, Emily (Cristian Santos-Martinez) Welton, great grandchildren, Matilyn and Samantha Rawleigh and Brinley Fennell, three step grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren, a sister, Florence Partridge of Groveland, a brother in law George Worden of York, her "Other" Children, Connie (Rod) Karr of Arkport, and Christopher Bennett of Utica, along with their six children and six grandchildren, Roy's sister Lois (John) Leonard of Troupsburg, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, She will be greatly missed.


Joan was predeceased by her parents, a brother William (Sis) Holbrook of Cohocton, sisters, Joyce (Donald) Snow of Baldwinsville, and Mildred Worden of York, a brother-in-law Kenneth Partridge of Groveland.


As she requested there will be no services but a celebration of life to be held Saturday Sept. 6 2025 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Dansville Moose Club, 6 Main St. Online memories may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.


The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to "Joan's Army" for their many well wishes, cards, texts, and calls to check in on her and the diligent prayers sent on her behalf. All of the love and support shown to her, Roy, and the family have been greatly appreciated.
