Dansville- John E. Nagle age 81, passed away early Tuesday morning July 22, 2025, at the Livingston County CNR in Mt. Morris where he had been a resident for a short time.

He was born in Dansville on August 22, 1943, a son of the late Richard Anthony and Helen Mary (Rauber) Nagle. He was also predeceased by his brothers William and Laurence, as well as a nephew, Michael Sick. On June 13, 1970, he was married to the former Kathleen "Kathy" Bancroft Nagle.

John was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a former Lineman for NYSEG in Dansville retiring after more than 34 years. He was a Communicant of the Holy Family Catholic Community at St. Mary's Church in Dansville. He was a charter member of the Dansville Ambulance Company and the Frank Casbolt # 6780 VFW. He was also an active member of the Union Hose Fire Company, the Brae Burn Men's Golf Association, the Dansville Pilot's Association and the Daniel Goho Post # 87 of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Kathy, his children Tamara (Eric) Meints, Penny (Chris) George and Tim (Katie) Nagle; a sister Mary Therese (Doug) Sick; five brothers, Robert (Carol Lee) Nagle, David (Rose) Nagle, Paul (Sheila) Nagle, Michael (Donna) Nagle, and Richard (Laurie) Nagle, a sister-in-law Zina Nagle. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Tristen (Maddysen) Meints, Kayleigh George, Tessa Meints, Payton George, Trevor (Brynne) Meints, William Nagle and Helen Nagle, a great-granddaughter Maeve Meints, Kathy's family and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call Sunday July 27 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., in Dansville. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Church in Dansville. Interment with full military honors will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville.
