Floyd Kenneth Burns Obituary

Dansville- Floyd Kenneth Burns age 81, passed away at his home in Dansville on Sunday morning February 16, 2025.


He was born in Centralia, Kansas on April 30, 1943, a son of the late Homer K. and Blanche (Hoshard) Burns. He was also predeceased by a grandson, James Travis Burns, and his brothers, Homer, Robert, Dale, and Gary Burns, his first wife Ann (Ashley) Burns and a stepson, Edward Kuhn. In 2005, he married Kathryn (Ashley) Burns who survives.


Floyd was an active member in the Catholic Faith, he attended Mass regularly and even graduated from a Catholic High School and College. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered a lot of time helping with Boy Scouts. He was a Sergeant in the United States Armed Forces and retired as a Staff SGT. from the Army National Guard. He worked as an assembler and inspector for the General Motors Company in Kansas City, Kansas for several years.


In addition to his wife, Kathryn, he is survived by his children, Anthony (Donna) Burns, David Burns, James (Robin) Burns, John (Stacy) Burns, Mark (Debbie) Burns, a sister, Karen (Tom) Dudley, a brother Rex (Shirley) Burns, Kathryn's children, Lorna Kuhn, and Brenda (Ed Whalen) Kuhn, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.


A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday March 3rd 10 am at St. Mary's Church of Dansville. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held on Tuesday March 4th at Bath National Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life, Tuesday, March 4th, from 4pm-9pm at The Event Space 170 Main st Dansville. Online condolences may be shared at HindleFuneralHome.com.
